The Bernheim Woods Project began in 2007 and is continuing. The Woods is a 40,000 acre reserve of virgin eastern hardwood forest located near Frankfort, Kentucky. A friend of mine and I were photographing Shaker Villages and Civil War Sites when we stumble upon this gem. Hiking along narrow trails between dense stands of trees forced me to rethink landscape photography and to look up and through. This is the result. For purchase information, click here. |
